Up Date Mt. Rainier

It was so different and beautiful. Well, David and I had already been to Mt. Rainier on a nice day and saw the mountain and got some great pictures. But Jan and John came into camp on a rainy day so we took them to see if we could see part of the mountain. Not being from the north where snow is only a big deal when it's gone, I had a great time. It was coming a snow storm and I loved
it, the trees looked like a winter wonder land. The new snow had covered the dirty snow and it was great. Also talked to a Park Ranger and they take the snow fall reading from June to June and so far this year they have had 907 inches of snow.

this is Pam, the highway is mostly good, just lots of frost heaves between Whitehorse and the Alaskan border!!! Plan on going about 35-45 mph through this section. It helps if you have a car/truck/something in front of you so you can watch their bounces!! Through BC and Yukon the road crews put up blue buckets with orange or red flags for the frost heaves or potholes, but some are terrible, some are nothing, so you just have to watch everything!!! The drive is worth it, the scenery is GORGEOUS, just take your time for the frost heaves/pot holes, etc. Enjoy the trip up!!1
