On the Move

We had a farewell dinner with Jan, John, Jerry, Laura and family on Tuesday night. (The company was a lot better than the food) We packed up the RV and made ready to move out Wednesday morning early.

We traveled along the interstate heading west to Yuma, AZ. It was a beautiful drive what I saw of it between naps. Well, I had to hold Puddin and let her sleep so I figured it was a good time to catch a few winks. Anyway, the desert is coming to life this time of year. The Ocotillo Cactus are blooming. They are about the first thing to bloom out here. They remind me of bamboo, with their long limbs of thorns coming up from the ground in bushes. The bloom is bright red on the tips of each stick.

The Paloverde Trees are coming out, lime green with bright yellow flowers. All of this againtest a dry dresert of sand and rock with tall mountains of brown rock is beautiful.

If you look close at the picture, remember we are moving at 60 miles an hour, you'll see the Ocotillo blooming and one of the many mountains in the back ground.
We will be staying here at Pilot Knob for a few days before heading west again. Today we're going south into Mexico.

Yep, I had checked your blog. And yes, the desert sure is coming alive with color. During our hikes the past week, we took many pictures of flowers, birds, etc., even of hummingbirds working in the flowers. The desert certainly has a unique beauty to it!
